The Princess and the boys began to wave to Abdul regularly, and eventually, Diana visited the café. Despite Abdul’s initial nervousness, Diana’s warm nature quickly put him at ease.

Abdul feels her presence still lingers in the café, and welcomes people into his restaurant to share in the memories.

One day, Daoud mustered the courage to ask Diana for a photo to hang on the café’s wall. She graciously agreed, and that marked the beginning of Café Diana’s transformation into a living tribute to the Princess. The café began to celebrate her more openly,
